DOSAY DAM OF NUSHKI

Nushki Valley is so beautiful we shared its story in the previous blog. Today's blog is about Dosay Dam located in Nushki District we visited last month. Today we will let you know about the marvelous British era constructed structure. The British government in its time carried out numerous constructions in the subcontinent Which you can still see in every corner of the country today Railway tracks were built all over the subcontinent for communication In Balochistan dry and rock outcrops for defensive point of view the rocky mountains were cut to construct the railway line and tunnels were made.

The survey of the railway line was started in 1876 and construction began on it in 1879 For the rail track from Jacobabad to Sibi and Quetta, the difficult mountain of Bolan Pass was cut and the track was laid. Tunnels through the most difficult mountain pass of Chappar Rift for railway track from Quetta to Chaman and Kandahar And the bridge was built where a 220 feet high bridge was built to connect the line from one hill to another At the time, the bridge was called the "Wonder of the World." Until October 1,1922, the rail network in Balochistan was extended to the Iranian city of Zahedan. This railway network was laid without the help of modern technology.

Structure of Dosay Dam

Even today it is no less than a miracle Several airports were built here along the railway line Whose high and rotten towers are a reminder of their glorious past Areas where access to water was difficult to have a dam built there so that they can save rain water and use it for their needs Noshki water was salty So the British surveyed the whole area So they found a freshwater spring some distance from the station The British officer liked the taste of the water so much. He decided to build a dam at the top of the hill In order to save rain and spring water, it can be piped to the station and to the office of the political agent in the bazaar Work on the second dam was started with the help of engineers and locals on a narrow section the mountain, with cement and stones 100 feet wide and a 120-foot spillway was built With the help of animals to the dam site Cement, iron and other construction materials were delivered Dam to the station and A seven-kilometer long pipeline was laid to the political agent's office in the bazaar With rain from the station Nokandi, Dalbandin and water were supplied to other areas The dam has been completely filled with mud due to lack of safety and sanitation for many years It has a water storage capacity of only a few feet The pipeline is completely washed away The interior of this dam is about 400 feet long and 120 feet wide.

The dam is located 10 km east of Noshki city you can drive up to half a kilometer. After walking two and a half kilometers, you can reach the dam. This two and a half kilometer trek is as beautiful as it is difficult. The view of the dam from above was a very beautiful Scene of water falling from 120 feet And the sound of water was enough to refresh sad souls. The view of the blue water in the middle of the barren mountains was making it even more beautiful As we were approaching the dam. The water particles in the air were so beautiful. Khaisar mountain is located at a distance of 6 km from Noshki one of the most popular resorts in District Nushki.
