THE CHAMAN BORDER

Chaman is situated on Pakistan and Afghanistan border. Chaman is famous for PAK- AFGHAN bilateral trading. Daily thousands of people across both sides of the border do trade and enter in both country's territory. If anyone in Karachi or other parts of the country get to know you are going Chaman they have weird requests for instance "please get me an iPhone 11"  or "get me a Playstation 4, if you get it for 10,000" and "get me an F-16's engine". Well, you don't really get F-16's engine here but there is a lot you can buy from here so what do you really get in Chaman.

Like Karachi's Sadar market Chaman also has an Afghan Market you will find products from Afghanistan, Chinese, Iran, Japan, and Pakistan. There are good crockery shops which have, soap, ladies cosmetics, jewelry, perfumes, and beauty product sare available at reasonable rates and you'll get new and used home appliances and electronic items here which includes a Camera, Laptop, LEDs, Mobile if you are in search of latest electronic items, this market is probably not for you you'll get at least 5-year-old models which you can check and be satisfied before the purchase the default language of most Cameras, laptops, and mobiles are in the Japanese language. you can find laptops of Sony, Apple, Lenovo, Toshiba, Dell, and HP easily as compared to Karachi, you will definitely get things cheaper here.

I was getting a Sony XperiaZ4 for Rs. 5,500 in Karachi which I got the same mobile here for Rs. 4,000. Here you can also get carpets and blankets for your home decoration at a cheap price, I bought a Chinese blanket for Rs. 3,500 which we would have got for Rs. 5,500 in Karachi. Bargaining is not a good practice in Chaman because the rates are reasonable and the sellers are virtuous and with nice markets, with Urdu or Pashto being the main language let apart the markets, you won't be able to find women in the city women are likely to stay hidden so if you plan to visit with your family, please take care of their traditions it's better to carry yourself as per their traditions and the place you are visiting. Despite the conflicts, people keep discipline and are responsible and live peacefully. There are Hindu and Christian communities in Chaman who live here for decades. You can find Japanese non-custom cars and bikes in Chaman but you should have your own sources to get them out from here.

In Chaman, on the Pak-Afghan border many people cross it daily approximately 5000-6000 local Chaman people every day leave the city for their jobs so in every morning they leave and come back in the evening like this based in Chaman, Pak-Afghan border, Bab-e-Dosti a total of 6,000-21,000Afghan and Pakistani cross it for trade and their jobs it is a difficult task to check, manage and keep a track of so many people for which the administration needs to be appreciated. Chaman is an economic hub for the locals. The Government should invest in this border area to make it reliable for the businesses and for the bilateral trade.
